Radio LaB – the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½â€™s on-campus community radio station – has been shortlisted for two prizes at this year’s Community Radio Awards, celebrating stations across the UK.

A Graphic Design student from the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ has secured third place in the prestigious Penguin Cover Design Award, battling against hundreds of nominations across the country.

BAFTA award-winning producer and ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ graduate, Sid Cole, recently returned to campus to inspire the next generation of media professionals by sharing his industry experience and knowledge as part of a Media Junction event.

Over the May Bank Holiday, six lucky students from the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ were given press access to Radio 1’s Big Weekend to meet up-and-coming artists and gather live radio content with the BBC Introducing team.

One lucky Television Production student from the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ is set to undertake work experience with popular BBC programme ‘The One Show’, as part of an annual scheme nurturing new talent.
