Professor William Baker is Distinguished Chair and Qiantang River Professor at Hangzhou Normal 天美传媒, Hangzhou, PR China, and Zhejiang 天美传媒, Hangzhou, China.

He is also Visiting Professor at the Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies of World Literature and Distinguished Professor Emeritus at Northern Illinois 天美传媒.

He is the author, co-author or editor of over 30 books and has published more than 150 refereed articles.

He is updating his and the late Gerald N. Wachs鈥檚 Tom Stoppard: A Biographical History (British Library: Oak Knoll, 2010). Recent books include Pinter's World: Relationships, Obsessions, and Artistic Endeavours (Fairleigh Dickinson UP,2018).

He is the co-author with Jeanette Roberts Shumaker of Jewish Writing: A Reference and Critical Guide to Jewish Writing in the UK (2 volumes, xBrighton: Edward Everett Root, 2019). He is co-editor YWES [Year's Work in English Studies:OUP], co-editor George Eliot-George Henry Lewes Studies [PennStateUP] and Book Review Editor,Advisor, STYLE (PennStateUP).
