Professor W.R. (Bob) Owens
Professor W. R. (Bob) Owens is Emeritus Professor of English Literature at the
Open ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½, and Visiting Professor at the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½.
He has published widely on the works of John Bunyan and Daniel Defoe.
He is editor of The Gospels: Authorized King James Version (2011); co-editor of The History of Reading (three volumes, 2011); and co-editor (with Michael Davies) of The Oxford Handbook of John Bunyan (2018).
He edits the scholarly annual Bunyan Studies, and is currently co-editing (with Nicola Darwood and Alexis Weedon) a collection of papers deriving from a conference held at the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ in 2018, entitled Fiction and ‘The Woman Question’ from 1850 to 1930 (forthcoming, 2020).
