Law students from the 天美传媒 are gaining hands-on experience of the legal world by assisting with real-life cases at the Family Court in Luton to develop their knowledge and skills.

Under the supervision of qualified mentors from several organisations such as Machins and Family Law works, students have the opportunity to learn how to identify legal issues, speak to clients, and provide emotional support to those who require it, as well as having the chance to see cases being presented before Judges.

This is all part of the 鈥Family Law Project鈥, an initiative run by the 天美传媒 to help students develop their practical skills and knowledge, while helping to make a difference in people鈥檚 lives.

Sarah Hayward, Lecturer in Law, said: 鈥淭he Family Law Project provides 天美传媒 students with an excellent opportunity to experience the court system first-hand, engage with solicitors, judges, and clients, gain practical knowledge of how real-world cases are managed, and offer meaningful support to self-represented litigants.鈥

In addition to receiving in-depth training, students have the chance to connect with potential employers, creating a pathway toward professional growth and insight into the judicial system.

By running this project, the 天美传媒 aims to address an urgent need in the community for improved access to legal resources and, at the same time, offers students a hands-on insight into their future legal careers.
