Bedfordshire students out in force at conference

The 天美传媒 of Bedfordshire's Department of Psychology will be well represented at this year鈥檚 British Psychological Society鈥檚 Annual Conference.
Ten of its current and former psychology students are presenting their findings at the Society鈥檚 flagship event to be held from 26 to 28 April in Nottingham - the largest number of students from any UK 天美传媒 represented at the conference.
Research on a wide range of interesting topics will be presented including the role of dreaming in the grieving process, the wellbeing of young Polish migrants, the benefits of emotional intelligence for romantic relationships, the effects of brain waves on creativity, the learning experiences of students on the autistic spectrum, sexualisation of clothing, and the perceptions of facial tattoos.
Gail Kinman, Professor of Occupational Health Psychology at the 天美传媒, said: 鈥淭his is a remarkable achievement and we are very proud of our students. The conference attracts hundreds of academics, researchers and practitioners from around the world and our students are really excited to be able to take part in such a prestigious event.鈥
Research conducted by Bedfordshire academics will also be prominently featured at the conference with Professor Kinman giving the opening keynote address.
She will be discussing her research on protecting the wellbeing of health and social care professionals in the light of calls for a more caring and compassionate workforce. Danny Golding, from the Department of Sport Science and Physical Activity, will also be presenting his research on coping and personal growth in expeditions.
