Junior racing driver Frederik Vesti has been making the most of the 天美传媒鈥檚 Human Performance Centre (HPC) to help prepare him for his Formula 1 debut during Free Practice 1 at the upcoming 2023 Mexican Grand Prix.
Ahead of his scheduled free practice session on the 27th October, Frederik joined academics and students from the School of Sport Science & Physical Activity over a two-week period, to prepare him for the environmental stresses of competing in Mexico. This included physiological testing, heat acclimation and altitude acclimation, utilising the state-of-art facilities available on the 天美传媒鈥檚 Bedford campus
Speaking about his training in the HPC, Frederik said: 鈥淢y time at the Human Performance Centre has been an invaluable experience in my preparations for the Mexico City Grand Prix. The specialised altitude and heat exposure sessions in their state-of-the-art environmental chamber have allowed me to optimise my physical capabilities and adapt to the challenging conditions I will face. The team's scientific approach to athlete development has undoubtedly given me a competitive edge."
Reece was the Human Performance Centre's first client. He put the state of the art facilities to good use in preparation for the gruelling Ironman Triathlon.
