Senior Lecturer in Aviation and Airport Management

David Sutcliffe

David has more than 30 years’ aviation industry and higher education teaching experience.

He started his aviation industry experience on the British Airways Graduate Trainee Scheme , and has since worked with other airlines such as Virgin Atlantic Airways , and new startup airlines such as Arik Nigeria and Air Ivoire.

He has been fortunate to have worked in multicultural environments in the Caribbean, USA, the Middle East and Africa, as well as in the UK.

In addition he has worked for various airline operating companies, and for the UK Aviation Regulator, the UK Civil Aviation Authority. From Spring 2024 he will be taking up an invitation from Gatwick Airport to join their Airport Consultative Committee as a Non-executive member of the Passenger Advisory Group.

He has about 6 years’ Higher education teaching experience at various universities in the UK.

David’s aviation industry experience includes roles in Customer Services, Commercial, People Management and Industrial Relations, Emergency and Crisis Management.

David is delighted to bring these experiences and insights to his teaching at Bedfordshire ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½, thereby enriching students’ industry credibility and employability.
