Dr Vikram Finavker

I hold a PhD in Finance from Middlesex ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½. My PhD research investigated effects of use of derivatives on the probability of default of UK non-financial firms using a large panel data set. My current research focuses on risk management activities of UK non-financial firms. I have presented my research at international academic conferences and my work was also presented at professional audience of the Bank of England, Standard and Poor’s and Citi Bank.

Prior to joining ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ in 2017, I worked at Birmingham City ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ from 2015 to 2017, Nottingham ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½, Coventry ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ College from 2014-2015 and Middlesex ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ from 2011 to 2014. I have taught a wide range of modules in Finance to both undergraduate and postgraduate students and supervised many dissertation students.

I possess very strong IT skills. In particular, I am an advanced user of Excel and have experience of working with very large datasets. I also have very good command of Stata, SPSS, Datastream, Eikon, Bloomberg, CapitalIQ and Endnote.
