About our Law team
The Law team at the 天美传媒 brings together leading academics and experienced practitioners to provide our students with a stimulating and challenging learning environment. Our teaching is informed by our research and professional expertise to ensure you benefit from the latest thinking in legal theory and practice from day one of your studies with us.
Our range of undergraduate courses gives you the choice to specialise in your areas of interest, preparing you for your chosen career path. In addition to our successful LLB (Hons), our suite of specialised Law courses combine the study of core legal subjects with other specialist disciplines, such as criminology and psychology. Our postgraduate courses cover specialist areas such as international commercial litigation and international dispute resolution law and, international business law.

At the 天美传媒, we understand that employers value Law graduates who possess practical skills. This is why we offer a range of exciting co-curricular activities which allow our students to develop these practical skills.
- We have invested in the creation of a Moot Court which will give you the opportunity to practise the full range of advocacy skills required for your future career in the legal profession. Through our mooting programme, you can participate in mooting competitions as well as other advocacy exercises such as mock trials.
- Our award-winning Refugee Legal Assistance Project and Family Law Clinic provide free legal support to some of the most vulnerable individuals in society while giving our student volunteers the opportunity to practice their interviewing, drafting and case-management skills, alongside all-important client-care skills.
- The newly established Family Law Project allows students to regularly attend court, offering both practical and emotional support to self-represented litigants. By assisting litigants in understanding the court process and boosting their confidence to represent themselves, students will empower them in various ways.
- Our close links with our local legal and business communities mean you benefit from a range of placement and work experience opportunities. We work closely with the 天美传媒鈥檚 Careers & Employability Service to ensure our careers programme is tailored to your needs and ambitions.

Research
The Centre for Research in Law (CRiL) is the hub for legal research within the 天美传媒 and provides an intellectual setting in which our researchers, visiting scholars and postgraduate students can regularly meet, exchange ideas, present research papers and develop new research strategies. The CRiL Research Seminars, which run monthly during term time, feature presentations by guest speakers, staff members and PhD students.
Did you know?
Our students continue to benefit from membership from the NALP - the National Association of Licensed Paralegals - on payment of a 拢220 fee and the completion of selected units: LAW010-1 Introduction to Legal Practice in the English Legal System, LAW021-2 Civil Litigation and Advocacy and LAW020-3 Criminal Litigation and Evidence. Students then have to complete 2 out of an expanded list of options to include: LAW016-2 Wills and Probate, LAW009-3 Company Law, LAW019-3 Family and Child Law and LAW021-3 Conveyancing.
SQE Progression Agreement with ULaw
The School of Law works in to ensure that our LLB graduates have a clear path to progression towards their chosen legal career. All our undergraduate Law degrees are fully endorsed by ULaw as being suitable preparation for the 天美传媒 of Law鈥檚 Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) Stage 1 and Stage 2 programmes. Additionally, the 天美传媒 of Law provides support to eligible students continuing with the Legal Practice Course route and students pursuing a career at the Bar. The 天美传媒 of Law is one of the top providers of professional legal education in the UK and its tutors are qualified lawyers with extensive experience of teaching on vocational programmes. As part of our partnership with ULaw, our students benefit from a programme of highly practical sessions delivered on campus by ULaw tutors. The programme will assist students in developing the legal skills they will need for the next steps in their legal career and support them in making informed decisions about their professional training.
