Psychology of Health and Wellbeing Research Pillar
Pillar Lead: Dr Faye Powell
The Psychology of Health and Wellbeing research pillar aims to engage in collaborative research locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally to further understand the bio-psycho-social determinants of health and well-being and health behaviour. Members of the research group conduct high-impact research relating to the psychology of health and well-being across the lifespan, benefitting patients, communities, professionals, and policymakers. This includes research across the life course relating to pregnancy loss, child and adolescent health and wellbeing, end-of-life care, death and bereavement, the treatment of medically unexplained symptoms, eating behaviour and weight management and chronic illness.
Much of our research is internationally excellent or world-leading and attracts funding from prestigious funding organisations such as the National Institute for Health Research.
We encourage applications from students wishing to pursue doctoral studies in any area of health and wellbeing.
