Jane M'nkanata

Lecturer in Midwifery

Jane M'nkanataI joined the 天美传媒 in August 2022 after Working in the NHS as a midwife in clinical practice and student supervision.

During my time in the clinical role, I developed a huge passion in complicated pregnancies and Obstetric emergencies.

I find it extremely rewarding teaching and supporting students achieve the skills needed in complex situations and emergency scenarios. I champion application of theory into clinical practice hence the transition to an academic role.

Since joining the lecturing team, I have intensified my passion for practical skills. I am the Midwifery simulation lead. Simulation is a vital component of midwifery training. This facilitates learning where learners can make mistakes without compromising life. The supportive environment enhances the competence and confidence needed for real life scenarios. In addition, it gives the learners a chance to practice skills that may be hard to find in a clinical set up.
