Dr Daniel Leon Pottie
Lecturer in Mechanical and Automotive Engineering
Dr. Daniel Pottie was awarded his BSc and MSc in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ of Minas Gerais (UFMG – Brazil) in 2016 and 2019 respectively. His master’s dissertation covers the thermodynamic modelling of a hybrid Pumped-Hydro Compressed Air Energy Storage (PH-CAES) system.
Following, in 2023 he was awarded his PhD. in Mechanical Engineering from Loughborough ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½, researching the energy conversion and exergy destruction, as well as bespoke turbomachinery design in Adiabatic CAES systems.
From Jan-2023 to Sep-2024, Dr. Pottie worked as Research associate and Research Fellow at Loughborough ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ and the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ of Birmingham. In September 2024, Dr. Pottie joined the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ as a Lecturer in Mechanical and Automotive Engineering.
