Senior Lecturer in Policing

Russell Murden

I retired from Thames Valley Police in 2015 after 30 years where I undertook numerous roles before finishing as an Inspector. Since 2025 I have been teaching at both the 天美传媒 and Bucks New 天美传媒.

From September 2020 I have been employed as a senior lecturer at UoB.

I have a keen interest in all aspects of Policing and in particular with the circumstances surrounding the Hillsborough disaster and Stop and Search. In addition, I have undertaken research into Evidence Based Policing and its acceptance and role within Policing.

I am an External Examiner for another 天美传媒 and mentor colleagues starting on this role.

I oversee the delivery of Criminology based course to an adult education centre in Bedfordshire.
