National Instruments

National Instruments has recently launched a new programme known as the Self-Paced online training which is now freely available for all staff, postgraduate students and researchers within the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ campus to access LabVIEW Core 1, Core 2 and Core 3, Tests and, Multisim and Ultiboard training at their own pace 24/7, 365 days a year.

There is no charge to this service. As part of an active Academic Site License agreement, the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ is entitled to use this service.

What is Self Paced Online Training?

The NI Training and Certification team is continuing to make NI training courses available in the Self-Paced Online Training format. Training in this format will automatically be available to customers with an active software service contract 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year via ni.com and will also be available for purchase individually.

Self-paced online training content is delivered through a Learning Management System (LMS) that is accessible from using a customer's ni.com User Profile. Each self-paced online training course will contain:

  • Multimedia (video) training modules covering the same topics as the corresponding instructor led course
  • Interactive quizzes
  • Exercises and solutions

Multisim Basics

Get an introduction to the NI Multisim integrated capture and simulation design environment and learn how to build a schematic and evaluate circuit performance with interactive simulation and advanced analyses. Also discover how to complement your current database of components by creating custom capture and simulation parts. This course prepares you to design and simulate a circuit that is ready to be transferred to board layout and routing.

Ultiboard Basics

This course prepares you to transfer NI Multisim schematic net lists to the NI Ultiboard environment and design a printed circuit board (PCB) for export to production. Topics include design set up, precise part and trace placement, and the optimisation and use of auto placement and autorouting. The hands-on approach of this course steps you through PCB creation to help you quickly become productive with Ultiboard.
