Electronic Engineering Lab A306
National Instruments were chosen as a key partner in the provision of the electrical engineering labs. By using National Instruments' graphical programming software and modular hardware the department has transformed the way staff and students can design, prototype and deploy systems for test, control and embedded design applications.
Rohde & Schwarz equipment was selected for the new telecommunications lab. As an independent group of companies, Rohde & Schwarz specialise in electronics. They are a leading supplier of solutions in the fields of test and measurement, broadcasting, radiomonitoring and radiolocation as well as secure communications for more than 75 years.
The cutting-edge equipment provided by Rohde & Schwarz and National Instruments will be used by undergraduates, postgraduate students and researchers alike.

Room A306 has 30 Viglen computers, each with:
- Intel Core i7 3.60 GHz
- 8 GB RAM
- Dual 250GB SSD and 500 HDD
A306 is also equipped with 4 NEC display screens together with a lectern with a zoom display facility for exhibiting individual items. A306 is host to a local server running FreeNAS with local student account storage facilities.
A306 is located along the A300 corridor and is a specialist lab known as the Rohde and Schwarz Telecommunications Lab. This lab is for use of the Computer Science and Technology department.
