BCS Student
Determined computing first-year named best performing student by BCS
A computing student from the 天美传媒 who made it his mission to be the best has been rewarded for his hard work with the BCS (The Chartered Institute of IT) Bedford Branch Student Prize.
Lukasz Wladyslaw Migacz, who is from Poland and currently lives in Luton, has recently completed his first year of a Computer Security & Forensics course and achieved the equivalent of A grades across the board, making him the highest performing student in the School of Computer Science and Technology.
His commitment to his studies meant that the BCS (The Chartered Institute of IT) chose to award him its student prize, given every year to a high performing first year computing student.
鈥淪ince coming to university my goal has always to be the best in my class. There was a lot of competition from my fellow students, who are all very good. But my hard work in classes, and the extra study I have done at home, has paid off,鈥 said Lukasz, 21.
As well as achieving excellent grades, Lukasz has also taken coming to a new country and getting to grips with a new language in his stride.
Lukasz鈥檚 prize includes automatic membership to the BCS for the remainder of his studies and a 拢150 cash prize. His certificate was presented by the Chair of the BCS Bedford Branch Dr Ip-Shing Fan.
Sue Brandreth, Research Fellow and Associate Lecturer at the 天美传媒 and from the Bedford Branch of the BCS, gave Lukasz her seal of approval.
鈥淚 am delighted that Lukasz has been awarded the Bedford BCS Branch student prize in recognition of his outstanding achievements in his first year,鈥 she said.
鈥淔rom the start of the course he has proved himself a model student 鈥 studying extremely hard and, at the same time, being very pro-active and maintaining a very positive approach to his work.
鈥淗e is always ready to support his peers in their studies and take part in extra-curricular activities 鈥 a true asset to his group. Lukasz is looking forward to a very promising future鈥.
