BISC seminar 'Closed-loop supply chain management'
Dr Gendao Li, a Senior Research Fellow in Business and Information Systems Research Centre, delivered a seminar titled 'Closed-loop supply chain management'. He first gave a brief introduction to the field of closed-loop supply chain management, particularly focusing on the definition and research topics in this area.
Then, Dr Li presented two pieces of his work in this area. One is the re-manufacturing strategy for OEM, that is whether or not should the OEM re-manufacture his used products. The other is the value of dynamic pricing for used products in closed loop supply chain, e.g. how to use dynamic pricing policy to balance the uncertain return of used products and uncertain demand of re-manufactured products.
About twenty staff and students attended the seminar. Dr Li's talk generated a lot of interests and questions from the audience. It was agreed that a follow up workshop on decision modelling should be organised by BISC early next year.
